Switched Virtual Circuit - will get into more detail when I get back home - on the road at the moment.  Research PNNI, UNI and NNI as well as NSAP Addresses.

PNNI stands for a private network-to-network interface. If a SVC is a switched virtual circuit, then that should mean that it is public because you can switch back and forth with something. As opposed to having your own private network, so how does PNNI join this?
