No! Monkey

« on: April 11, 2008, 01:25:04 AM »

This last week has been a hectic one! RoUtermOnKey has ditched the Actiontec GT701 DSL modem for our Internet and replaced it with a Cisco 1720.  Still using qwest.net DSL but I finally leased a /29 network and dropped MSN as the ISP.

I’ve been hosting everything myself anyway so I thought I would take the plunge and besides qwest’s vast MPLS cloud and DHCP servers were an insurmountable obstacle to my site being stable.  Every time qwest would put a new IP on me I would ditty out to networksolutions.net to update my DNS and MX records but to no avail.  The ISP can just tunnel you to a new network and force a new IP on you.  Not much you can do.

Needless to say, this week was fraught with DNS and Application problems that have all since been resolved.

RoUtermOnKey has been ordered by Custom Networks, LLC who owns all of our stuff to make way for some new ecommerce (Corp Sites).  So I guess now the money side of the operation is moving in to stop all the fun Sad

We will keep you posted on the status on the LAB.

Regards,
-Noto

PS. I’m out for a week anyway; WD, I and Monkey are going on another cruise.  We’ll bring back some pictures - Ciao
